Free WinPDF Writer

Share Your Documents in PDF format
Adobe established a standard called Portable Document Format, shortly PDF. It is meant to create and distribute digital documents. These documents can be displayed on any type of computer independent of the operating system running on it. There are different commercial applications that allow creating PDF-documents but as the name says these are not for free!

WinPDF Writer allows any user of a computer running a Microsoft OS to create PDF-files from any printable document out of any Windows application which is able to print on an installed printer.
WinPDF Writer installs as a virtual Windows printer driver. The only thing you have to do to create a professional looking PDF-document is to print it with the Windows application of your choice and choose WinPDF Writer as the printer in the print-dialogue.
Installation Instructions:
1. Double click on the WinPDF.exe file
2. The WinPDF Installation Wizard starts
3. Click the “NEXT” button
4. Read the License Agreement and accept it by checking “I accept the license agreement”
5. Click the “NEXT” button
6. Enter your name and organization and choose to install only for the current logged in user or for anyone who uses this computer
7. Click the “NEXT” button
8. In the following dialogue box you can modify the installation directory or just accept the standard directory by clicking “NEXT”
9. Select the installation type “complete” or “custom” and click on the “NEXT” button
10. If all installation information was entered correctly click “NEXT” to install. Otherwise click on the “BACK” button to re-enter information.

12. Click on the “FINISH” button
13. Setup is complete

doPDF

doPDF is a free PDF converter for both personal and commercial use and works on Windows Vista, XP, 2008/2003/2000 Server (32 and 64-bit). Over 3,000,000 downloads!

doPDF is a fairly simple program. Even though it's utterly bereft of features beyond its main function--to let users create PDF documents from within any program using the native Print option--it's still worthwhile because it does the basics very well.
Along with whatever printer you've got hooked up that shows up in the Print dialog box, doPDF adds an eponymous option. Select it, hit print, and you get the chance to change the name of the PDF you're creating. Hit enter again and the PDF gets created, then automatically opens for you to proofread. Lacking any customization features or a control panel to manage them, doPDF is definitely meant for fast PDF creation with a minimum of fuss. Extensive language support should appeal to non-native English speakers, and there's another benefit that comes from lacking any frills: It barely uses any RAM.
